Our Group encourages car sharing, and walkers often meet at specified car parks.  Drivers usually appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers.   As a guide, 8p per mile per passenger is considered an amount which reasonably covers the costs incurred by the driver. Please note increased fuel contribution.

Remember to bring clean shoes to wear in the coach for the return journey

Fun Day with Map & Compass
Meet/park at 9:30 am at the Fishermen’s Car Park, Hungerford Common, grid ref SU 351681, for car share to the Look Out Country Park, Bracknell – 70 mile round trip.  All meet in the cafeteria for discussions prior to participating in the permanent orienteering course:  This course can be followed either individually or in small groups.  It will be necessary to purchase a map at £1 obtainable from the on site shop.  Don’t forget to bring your compass !!!  Please register your interest beforehand.  This is a fun day walking in pleasant surroundings, which will benefit all, regardless of your map and compass ability. If successful, there are several other courses which can be visited at a later date.

Following a couple of West Berks Ramblers walks round Ardington village and members asking to visit the house I have arranged a private visit.

Ardington House is a resplendent Georgian property built in 1720.  It is owned by the Barings family and we could be shown round by a family member.  Coffee will be served on arrival.  Please park your cars in the field to the right of the house. Entrance fee £7.50 to include coffee.  Please see separate booking form.

Crossing the Pang Valley from Scotland (!) to Rushdens, on to Frilsham.  Back via Stanford Dingley, the blue pool and The Avenue.  Mostly footpaths in woods and open country with splendid views.  Bring lunch but pub refreshments at end.     9 miles
