Our Group encourages car sharing, and walkers often meet at specified car parks. Drivers usually appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers. As a guide, 5p per mile per passenger is considered an amount which reasonably covers the costs incurred by the driver.
All coach walks start from Newbury Wharf Remember to bring clean shoes to wear in the coach for the return journey

After a steady climb, taken slowly up a tricky Bridlepath to Ladle Hill, the reward is wonderful views across the top, then an easy return past Watership Down and through Sydmonton Court. About 4.5 miles

I have put this walk in again by popular demand as so few people could join us last year on the Saturday that we did it. The walk gives wonderful views everywhere, particularly of the Military badges carved into the hillside. Please bring picnic and drinks for all day. The ‘Pembroke Arms’ should be open for drinks at the end of the walk. 10/11 miles

This is a variation on a wet walk that had to be cut short - an undulating figure-of-eight around the Kennet Valley, with a mix of open tracks, some woodland and field paths, and good views. If you do not intend to use the pub at the end of the walk, please park considerately in Ball Hill but not so as to obstruct the vision for vehicles leaving the pub car park. I have therefore arranged a figure-of-eight walk of 5 to 6 miles, both morning and afternoon, with a stop for lunch at the pub (which belongs to Anthony Worrall Thompson), grid ref SU 705835. We can use the car park, but please car share if possible as the parking area is not very big and there is very little parking in the small lanes nearby. 10 to 12 miles in total

I had a ‘phone call from the Herb Farm at Sonning Common asking us if we would like to visit them and have tea there, and I am not one to miss an opportunity like that! Please meet at 10.00 am at the dead end lane by the church in Rotherfield Peppard, grid ref SU 714815, for a fairly easy walk (for the Chilterns!) to Rotherfield Greys, Henley, and into Sonning Common, stopping for tea at the Herb Garden before walking back to Rotherfield Peppard. Please car share where possible as parking is fairly limited (c.60 miles round trip). About 10 miles - but if you would like to stop at the Herb Garden and be collected later (lots to see there), it would be 7/8 miles.

Park in Bradley Moore Square, which is a free public car park, grid ref SU 525680. The entrance is NW off Harts Hill road, just SW of the junction with Floral Way (roundabout). Try to use the NW corner of the car park and avoid those parking spaces close to the shops or close to ‘The Mill’ PH. The route of the walk passes through Cold Ash and Upper Bucklebury.
